During this 2-day/1-night itinerary, you will experience the final stretch of the most famous trek in Peru, the classic Inca Trail. Your adventure will begin at Kilometer 104, where you will briefly explore the first archaeological group, Chachabamba, followed by an uphill hike to Wiñay Huayna before finally reaching Machu Picchu through Inti Punku, the Sun Gate. Exploring Machu Picchu is a mesmerizing experience and you will discover the intricate stonework, terraces, temples, and ceremonial sites that make this place so extraordinary.

DAY 1: CUSCO – KILOMETER 104 – MACHU PICCHU
- Morning: Pick-up from Cusco or Ollantaytambo hotel.
- Train Ride: To Kilometer 104 through the Urubamba River in the Sacred Valley.
- Disembark: At Kilometer 104 and cross the Urubamba River.
- Visit: Archaeological site of Chachabamba.
- Hike: 3 hours to Wiñay Huayna, then continue to Intipunku (Sun Gate) with views of Machu Picchu.
- Night: Stay in Aguas Calientes.
- Travel by Train: 37 km/23 miles – 1:30 hours.
- Trekking Distance: 11.7 km/7.3 miles – 6 hours.
DAY 2: MACHU PICCHU – CUSCO
- Morning: Early breakfast and bus to Machu Picchu.
- Tour: Private guided tour of Machu Picchu (optional Huayna Picchu visit).
- Afternoon: Return to Aguas Calientes, then train to Ollantaytambo.
- Evening: Private transport to Cusco and hotel drop-off.
